At the local level it is where we really can make a difference. 

The community needs leaders that have diverse experience allowing them to be able to look at things from many perspectives and then choose in the public interest

  • 2002 - 2010Volunteer with High Springs Community Theater

    Including technical director and managed upgrade to bathrooms and backstage area.

  • 2004-2020Appointed to City’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Board

    Includes City Tree Board (Chair of the Board 2010-2020.

  • 2006-2011Chaired Design Team for High Springs Main Street

    Accomplished updating downtown street banners and gateway signs, as well as bench pads, upgrades to James Paul Park, new benches & lights in partnership with the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)

  • 2008-2011Treasurer of High Springs Community Development Corporation

    Event Coordinator for first High Springs BMX National Race at the High Springs Sports Complex for High Springs BMX

  • 2019-PresentAdvocated for SWAMPBOTS

    Advocated for SWAMPBOTS regarding grant funding to bring the first robotics program to Alachua County. Grant was awarded to High Springs and Alachua. The program has grown to six teams across three age groups in 2023 and competed and was awarded in national competition in California.

  • 2020-PresentFounding Board Member of Heart of High Springs

    A new community-based 501c3 nonprofit organization supporting culture, economic growth and tourism by promoting artistic, cultural, economic, educational, historic and revitalization activities. Currently serves as Treasurer.

    Board Member of Heart of High Springs, a group responsible for smiley face flag in front of Bambi’s, new gateway sign on 441 and the murals painted in High springs

  • 2021 & 2023HomeTown Hero Award

    Awarded Home Town Hero award by Florida League of Cities for advocating with state government for local control of local issues
